In addition to the QuNET initiative, the Free States of Thuringia, Saxony and Bavaria are building research infrastructures and application laboratories for quantum communication. These also serve as platforms for experiments and test runs of the technologies and components developed as part of the QuNET initiative. They also help with validation and offer suitable research environments for interested actors from business and science.
